Hold It Together

This project was created with what I like to call a 'just create' approach where there was no initial plan but rather a free-flow process whereby safety pins were put together to create something new. The photographed ensembles were inspired by the late 70's punk movement with an emphasis on their stereotypical usage of safety pins and was taken to the extreme making models wear only under garments and safety pins. The interlocking of the safety pins was purposefully done so that the viewer could see that such a mundane object can become something more intricate and create a contemporary high fashion item.
